Zoé delivered an outstanding sewing party for my daughter’s 11th birthday! It was fun and creative, but also quiet & focused with lots of space for chats and laughter. Incredibly rewarding too as the girls realisations were so well achieved - total wow factor all around. Pretty impressive considering this is all wrapped up within a 2 - 2h30 window, and is the most tidy and hands off party too for the parents. This has been by far the best party activity we hosted at home, so much so, our youngest has asked for this too! What a lovely first step into sewing for them. 🙏

My 8 year old has always had an interest in using my sewing machine, but as a novice myself I was unable to think of simple projects to work with him on. I wanted to find him a sewing class to attend and came across Zoe from Oodles of Craft after hearing about her sewing parties. Although her sewing parties were not running during lockdown, I was lucky enough to get him onto a one-off trial sewing class via Zoom to make some bunting. Zoe was amazing at getting the children sewing confidently even though she wasn't actually with them. My son loved the experience and wanted to do more, so I was delighted when Zoe started a full online sewing course for children over the Autumn term.

After an initial quick 121 to introduce herself and ensure that my son could use Zoom correctly, the actual course started with an introduction to a sewing machine (threading, changing the bobbin and changing stitches) so all the children could feel confident if something went wrong, followed by two simple projects to complete. We requested for the material be provided, and delivered direct to us, and were delighted with her choice of fabric. Although I am on standby in the background each lesson, my son has managed to create some lovely items in these lessons.

Zoe provides clear step-by-step instructions to each stage of the prject, as well as easy-to-follow real-time demonstrations during the class. She is always able to answer any questions the children have whilst they work on their projects at home. It's quite unbelievable that she's not actually in the room with them. Her communication with them ouotside of lessons through Class Dojo is also wonderful, praising them all the way and sending reminders for the next lesson. It's an activity my son looks forward to each week.

My daughter had the most amazing party. Zoe was patient, encouraging and fun. The girls were so proud of the pillows that they made. They learnt so many skills and were so pleased with their beautiful creations. I would highly recommend a sewing party.

Zoe, founder of Oodles of Craft, is a gifted, friendly and motivational tutor. After decades of literally thinking I couldn't sew, I can now sew and to my joy, with some confidence use my sewing machine and complete projects. Zoe is a wonderful, kind and patient facilitator and teacher. Her classes are fun and well worth attending suitable for both adults and children. I recommend highly.
